ABOUT US:
Sequoia Masonry Construction Corporation is a small family owned business with 4-8 employees. We do small size jobs in a big way.
All of our leading employees have many years of masonry experience and provide a top level of performance in all of or endeavors. We concentrate or efforts in commercial and institutional work, and do only high end residential homes.
Since we are a small company, We focus our efforts on the smaller jobs. This helps keep our office overhead down and we pass that savings on to our customers. It also avoids the problem of not performing for the Prime Contractor and cause job delays. While we do smaller jobs , let me say we do then in a very big way, we are completely familar with the current Masonry U.B.C. and CA. U.B.C. codes such that we can and do perform on any project. Schools and Commercial work demand knowledgeable workers and that is what we provide. Communicating with the employees of other contractors is often difficult, but you wont have that problem with our employees. Each of them speak english, and this provides a better communication network and a safer job site.
As for safety, all of our employees are in compliance with SB-198 Injury Illness prevention program. We have weekly safety meetings and train our people to use the tools & equipment needed to perform our trade. All of our full time employees are forklift certified and have many years of job site experience.
We are, indeed, Masonry specialists and we leave that impression on every job we do.
HISTORY:
Let me start by introducing myself, My name is Rusty Gerber. I started working full time in the Construction industry in 1976, working for Bratton Masonry while helping other trades on weekends. I soon learned concrete work, carpentry skills, as well as Masonry.
It wasn’t long before I started doing side jobs for people on weekends and holidays for extra money. this work soon led to me applying for my B-1 General Building Contractors License, which I received in 1985. I then started my own Business under the Name of Sequoia Construction. I did mostly small residential jobs , Like patio covers ,and concrete drive ways. It wasn't long before I was ask to build a few houses.
As I was finishing the masonry on a house I was building, I was approached to do a larger Masonry job for a local business in town. The job was scheduled to last two years. This large job caused me to pursue my Masonry License C-27, keeping the name Sequoia Construction. Upon completing that job, I started bidding commercial and institutional work through the Fresno Builders Exchange. As time passed, I proved myself to be capable and dependable and became known to the larger general contractors in town. soon I was unable to handle the work load myself and was forced to hire capable masons to do the field work, allowing me to concentrated my efforts on office related work such as bidding, scheduling, and contract negotiation.
The name of the company was changed to Sequoia Masonry Construction Corporation when we incorporated in 2002. We now have 4-8 employees and focus all of our attention on masonry work.
